The 1987 Calgary Flames did – and they’ll be darned if you even think of putting it out.
Lyrics
V1: You can climb the highest mountain/ You can put a man on the moon
And you can see through the horizon/ You can sing a brand new tune
V2: When you hear the voices calling/ If the time is right for you
And you can give a second never (?)/ You can do what you wanna do
Chorus
But you can’t touch a flame when it’s red hot, you cant put the fire out
Like a magic thing that cant be bought
You can’t touch a flame when it’s red hot, red hot, redddd hotttttt
V3: You can take all the tea in China/ Face the dark now without fear
You can put a thing behind you (?)/ Standin’ tall against the years (??)
Back to Chorus
So apparently it’s easier to climb Mt. Everest, put a man into space and see through the horizon (?) than to touch a flame when it’s red hot or put it out. And I find it awesome that even though it’s blatantly apparent there’s only one person singing vocals the entire song, the Calgary flames still find it necessary to give the appearance that, in fact, all of them are actually singing the different parts.
Based on this video, the Calgary Flames band is comprised of about 6 guitars, 4 keyboards, a few basses and a whole gang of random horn players for good measure (Even though its obvious that the whole song was written and recorded on a keyboard).
To cap it off, the entire team is dressed up like Radioshack employees. Come to think of it, this video was probably shot inside a Radioshack.
Unfathomable amounts of awesome. Wow.

I don’t think you realize how happy this makes me!
I was a 7 year old Calgarian then. YAYYY CALGARY FLAMES!
Come to think of it, they were really into inspiring kids, from what I can remember. So at least this video has good intention!
I wish hockey teams would still do stuff like this.
Thanks for sharing Brian!!
